NOX ARCANA is a survival horror game prototype developed by a team of 6 students with Unity, during my first year of studies

DESCRIPTION

It is a survival horror game where the player play as Thomas Cartersson, a journalist who was locked into a cursed grimoire: the Necronomicon. Plunged into a strange world, he has to find a way to go out of it, while avoiding the enemies and by solving riddles. To do this, he has at his disposal some powers he will discover over time through artefacts. The player also has to manage the sanity of his character, who write all of his observations in his diary: it will allow the player to learn more about this strange place, as well as on monsters and entities which populate it.

The game is based on the novella « The Call of Cthulhu », writen by Howard P. Lovecraft in 1926, and takes the recurring events of the book as the Great Old Ones (divinities) or the Necronomicon. Furthermore, we tried to keep the oppressive and disturbing atmosphere of its works, in particular with the fact of being constantly trapped and of feeling the presence of superior beings, without being able to see them.
